There are several ministries that have opportunities for you to serve on an ongoing basis. There are also some time-specific opportunities listed as well. Take a look and if any of these ministries touches your heart, reach out to the contact person listed in the descriptions below.
We are always looking for people who have a heart for kids and students to join our amazing team of volunteers! Please reach out to Desire', Director Family Ministries, to chat about where your gifts might best be utilized, whether that is behind the scenes, leading a group, helping with VBS, etc. All volunteers who work with minors must attend St. Andrew for six months, pass a criminal background check, and participate in Safe Sanctuaries training.
St. Andrew UMC’s Family Promise week is fast approaching! It’s our turn to serve Monday, October 19, and again on Friday, October 23. To keep everyone safe as we can, we won’t be staffing the facility for the evening. We will be providing the evening meal on both of those days. These meals will nourish the families both body and soul. It will remind them they are loved by God. If you can help with either meal or would like more information, please contact Susan Foster at 463-4349. We are planning to feed between 10-15 people (both adults and children) and will need to have the meals at Family Promise by 5 p.m.
InTouch Ministries offer many opportunities to serve others, particularly within the St. Andrew fellowship. Everything from cookie making, assembling Blessing Boxes, visiting shut-ins, cooking and delivering meals, making and sending cards, growing and sharing garden produce, and other acts of love are all welcomed. Contact Gina Riendeau for more information about how you can serve!
The Music Ministries are open to anyone who loves to share their musical talent with our congregation for the glory of God. Our Chancel Choir and Praise Team are always looking to welcome new faces.
Although some of our musical groups are not currently practicing or performing due to COVID-19 restrictions, there are still opportunities for taking part by sharing special music selections during our services.
There are also opportunities for volunteers who would like to share in the production/broadcast of our services in the area of audio/visual support.
For more information contact Dave Evans, Director of Music Ministries.
Receptionist/office volunteers support the office staff with a variety of duties. They are trained by the office staff to take care of duties which include greeting guests in a warm and friendly manner, answering phone calls, answering basic questions about the church, and assisting with mailings and other office tasks as needed. We work with our volunteers to create a calendar each month that fits their schedules. This is a wonderful way to help with the day-to-day functions of the church office and get to know the office staff. If you'd like to volunteer once a week, once a month, or just once in a while, contact Carolyn Danielson, Office Administrative Assistant.
During COVID-19, we are limiting the number of volunteers until we have more of a need.
