Visiting Ministry

Posted in Caring & Health Updated

Authentic community is at the heart of St. Andrew's mission and is what fuels our ability to put forth compassionate outreach to those in need. Jesus built strong personal connections both with his disciples and the crowds who followed him, and our Visiting Ministry reaches out in the same way.

This ministry builds connection between our church and members of our community who find it difficult to attend worship. For many, being disconnected from their home congregation is an unexpected loss that occurs during a life stage marked by many other losses. Our volunteer visitors are paired with those who may be homebound, in short-term rehabilitation, in nursing homes, experiencing caregiver fatigue, or be socially isolated, and they develop deeply caring relationships over time.

Our visitors are also encouraged to participate in Soul to Soul, a visiting small group experience which enriches their ministry and provides a place to share both the joys and challenges associated with this ministry.

      What We Do

Volunteer members of our visiting team make nursing home visits or home visits, and our pastors make hospital visits. Visits may include communion, using elements that are blessed during our communion Sunday worship. Visits may be requested through the support tab on this web site.
