An Open Community of Faith

St. Andrew United Methodist Church's vision is to be an open community growing in the ways of Jesus, sent out daily to share the healing love of God. It permeates all that we are at St. Andrew.

“St. Andrew: an open community…” – not “us” and “them," only “us”

God’s desire is a glorious “us.” The dawning of God’s dream for humanity breaks as we remember we belong to each other, befriend the marginalized so the margins disappear, engage in brave conversations, and pursue justice for all in a spirit of joy and expectation.

All are invited into a restorative relationship with God through Jesus Christ lived out in loving community, a divine mosaic of diversity and inclusion.

“… growing in the ways of Jesus…”

Jesus people are people of “the Way.” Relationships and families shaped by Jesus’ teachings, hearts and hands mobilized for service, personal journeys constantly deepening in intimacy with God and surprised by God’s tender mercies.

Growth is essential. The mature tree provides the timber required to build the kingdom of God.

“… sent out daily to share the healing love of God”

The mission field is the ground beneath our feet. Every heart hungers to know the redeeming and tender love of God. Our daily connections are ripe with possibilities for God’s love to break through.

God sends us out daily to bear the good news. Underneath the mud that sticks to life, each one of us is made in God’s image, a divine masterpiece, an original of infinite value.
