Lafayette Urban Ministry Shelter Meals Needed
March 18, 2021
As a continuing community service project of St. Andrew and the Missions Committee, our church helps provide an evening meal for Lafayette Urban Ministry’s (LUM) overnight shelter guests. St. Andrew is scheduled to provide a meal on the following five Sunday evenings:
- June 13
- August 8
- October 10
- December 12
An individual, a family, and/or church group are welcome to volunteer to provide the meal. A simple meal, such as soup or stew in the winter (October–March), and sandwiches/salad in the summer months (April–September) is requested for approximately 44 people. Per LUM’s instructions, the following is needed:
- Meals – 25-44 servings – served at 9 p.m.
- Coffee – one pound – served at 6:30 a.m.
- Grab-N-Go Breakfast – 25-65 individually packaged servings – served at 6:30 a.m. (granola bars, muffins, bagels, breakfast bars, fruit bars, etc.)
Meals are to be delivered to the LUM Shelter on 4th Street between 8-9 p.m. Contact Peggy Hoover for more information or to volunteer.
