Bishop Julius Trimble has appointed Rev. Wellington Chiomadzi to St. Andrew United Methodist Church to serve as part-time associate pastor, effective May 1, 2024. Pastor Wellington and his wife, Felicia, an Ivy Tech student, are the parents of three sons and the grandparents of one beautiful granddaughter. Reverend Wellington is also pastor of the new Fresh Expression Lafayette Ubuntu International Community and serves with the Purdue Wesley Foundation, drawing from one of the largest groups of international students in the country. Congress Street United Methodist Church is partnering with St. Andrew to provide a parsonage for the Chiomadzi family. We believe Pastor Wellington brings skills and experiences that align with St. Andrew’s vision to be welcoming to all. A welcome celebration and cultural awareness experiences will be coming soon. Pastor Kelly cannot be replaced; yet, we again have an opportunity to grow as a church and to serve Christ as we welcome Pastor Wellington.
