I want to express my sincere thanks for taking the time this Sunday to recognize my retirement from St. Andrew. The warmth and kindness extended by the members of this wonderful congregation have left a mark on my heart. The farewell celebration, the thoughtful gifts, and the heartfelt words shared by all have made my retirement memorable. Many of you met my family, David, Dan, Jess, Maya, Bowen, and Cooper during the coffee hour. Now you know one of the main reasons why I retired – our beautiful grandkids! Spending more time with them and their parents makes my heart sing with joy. David and I are also looking forward to do more traveling – including spending time with my mother in New Jersey, meetups with the kids, and venturing out and about in our RV.

As I step into this new chapter of my life, I carry with me the love and friendship of so many of you. I have always said that St. Andrew isn’t just my church; it’s my Indiana family. You have been with David and I through the ups of downs of our lives and made us feel so loved and cared for.

A special thank you goes to the staff of St. Andrew (both past and present). I was blessed to work with the greatest pastors during my time--each unique in their own way, but ALL so caring and supportive. They helped shape the faith I carry with me. And, you will not find a more hardworking, dedicated, passionate, or loving staff anywhere. I will miss the camaraderie and many laughs we shared.

I also want to thank the many volunteers I have had the pleasure to work over the years -- you are the best! I’m so grateful for your servant’s heart, your compassion, and for the opportunity to get to know each of you through our shared love of St. Andrew.

Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for making my retirement celebration so special and meaningful. May God continue to richly bless this church and each one of you.
