There are several ministries that have opportunities for you to serve on an ongoing basis. There are also some time-specific opportunities listed as well. Take a look and if any of these ministries touches your heart, reach out to the contact person listed in the descriptions below.

Other opportunities can also be found on our Community Ministries and Regional and Global Ministries pages.

Each Sunday morning, we welcome everyone with beverages and snacks. In addition to donut holes, fruits, cheese and crackers, we like to provide some homemade snacks like sweet breads or cookies. If you are willing to be on a list of those that would be willing to provide some “goodies” or help set up or serve on Sunday morning from time to time, please contact Berdine Martin.

Gathering around the table is important at St. Andrew, and we have opportunities to serve on the kitchen crew for a number of weeks at a time for Midweek Connection, a few days for VBS, or for special events like all church meals or receptions. If you enjoy serving with others in a fun, supportive environment to prep, serve, or clean-up meals, contact Tammy, Church Administrator, and we will include you on an email list that is contacted when there is a need, and you can decide if that particular ask is a good fit for you.

We all have been touched by loss and also by the compassion of those who come around us during our grief. St Andrew is home to a quiet and vibrant group of people who mobilize quickly to provide a meal for families after a funeral service and we hear over and over what a blessing it is for those families to be able to gather around the table and reminisce.

There are many ways to participate from donating salads and desserts to decorating tables and helping to cook and serve. Folks to help with clean up are always appreciated! The nature of this ministry requires that we are flexible because not everyone can be available every time. If you would like to be on the list of those we contact first to either donate food or volunteer, please contact Julie Conlon.

Each Sunday morning, a team of volunteers is responsible for creating a spirit of warmth for everyone walking through the doors of St. Andrew. You can serve as an usher, greeter, or welcome desk volunteer. The commitment is for one of the two services about once a month. This is also a great opportunity for families to serve together. Contact Angie Thomas to join this team.

A snow removal team at St. Andrew provides the valuable service of ensuring the walks and handicap spaces are cleared and treated. This work is done on an on-call basis, so be sure to contact Tammy Martin to join the contact list.

A group meets at St. Andrew on Mondays to carpool to Pine Creek UMC Camp near Pine Village to help however they can for the day. They clean, paint, cut wood, make repairs, etc. Contact Alan Riendeau for details and to join the email list.

Did you know the grounds are St. Andrew are maintained by volunteers under the leadership of the Trustees? Not only is this a necessary task, but is also a first impression for those entering our parking lot and provides an opportunity to offer welcome to those who may be visiting us. The landscaping is maintained by volunteers who take responsibility for a particular area and weed it as need throughout the growing season. A couple of times a year, there are also organized workdays for seasonal project. Contact Anita Sanford join the email list and get involved.

Volunteers are also needed to help with the edges of the property with push mowers and weed-eaters. Contact Alan Riendeau or Tim Rearick to join that team.

We are always looking for people who have a heart for kids and students to join our amazing team of volunteers! Please reach out to Danielle Buckley, Director of Children's Ministries, or Janee LaFuze, Director of Student Ministries, to chat about where your gifts might best be utilized, whether that is behind the scenes, leading a group, helping with VBS, etc. All volunteers who work with minors must attend St. Andrew for six months, pass a criminal background check, and participate in Safe Sanctuaries training.

InTouch Ministries offer many opportunities to serve others, particularly within the St. Andrew fellowship. Everything from cookie making, assembling Blessing Boxes, visiting shut-ins, cooking and delivering meals, making and sending cards, and other acts of love are all welcomed. Contact Gina Riendeau for more information about how you can serve!

The Music Ministries are open to anyone who loves to share their musical talent with our congregation for the glory of God. Our Chancel Choir and Praise Team are always looking to welcome new faces.

There are also opportunities for volunteers who would like to share in the production/broadcast of our services in the area of audio/visual support.

For more information contact the Paul Addison, Director of Music Ministries.

Receptionist/office volunteers support the office staff with a variety of duties. They are trained by the office staff to take care of duties which include greeting guests in a warm and friendly manner, answering phone calls, answering basic questions about the church, and assisting with mailings and other office tasks as needed. We work with our volunteers to create a calendar each month that fits their schedules. This is a wonderful way to help with the day-to-day functions of the church office and get to know the office staff. If you'd like to volunteer once a week, once a month, or just once in a while, contact Tammy Ward, Church Administrator.
